[Analysed, possible soln] Too many icon tiles for available room in search results
Affected version
Fedora 34
gnome-shell-40.1-1.fc34.x86_64
Observed in both Xorg and Wayland with both AMD and Intel graphics
Bug summary
With non-unit font scaling, the number of icons in the search results is reduced from 6 to 5, because the 6th icon seems to be truncated to a single column of pixels with no text beneath it.
I'm using a scale factor of 1.27. At 1.4, the 6th icon disappears altogether and we're left with a centre-aligned row of 5 with no errant pixels (so it looks correct).
Steps to reproduce
- Dial in a font scaling of 1.27 in GNOME Tweaks.
- Go to the Activities overview, type to search.
What happened
6th application icon not drawn properly.
What did you expect to happen
6th application icon either drawn correctly, or left out with 5 remaining icons centre-aligned.
