UX: Provide more visible pattern for potentially privacy-leaking operations
In a default state, my top-right bar looks like this.
If I open a Zoom meeting, my microphone gets in use, and so its icon appears, in subtle white, between the others:
If I open Cheese, the bar remains the same, since no visual indicator for active webcam exists, at least in GNOME 3.36.
If I try recording the screen, the following appears:
A nice, red icon on the left of all others. This almost immediately catches my eye.
While I am aware of the traditional red color of the "recording" circle, I wonder if this pattern could be standardized for all privacy-leaking operations (that is, microphone, camera, position, screen recording and possibly more), possibly by specifying a different color (red? orange?) and a consistent position in the top bar to differentiate from the other mostly innocuous status icons.
