When using X11 session (in GNOME Boxes) triangles from top bar menus stay visible
Affected version
- Fedora 33 Beta or Debian Sid
- GNOME Shell 3.38.0
- XOrg only (note this is inside GNOME Boxes, I have not tried real hardware yet)
Bug summary
When the menus in the top bar are opened and then closed, the triangle remains.
Steps to reproduce
- Start GNOME 3.38 in an XOrg session
- Click to open any menu in the top bar, eg the notification or system menu (top right)
- Then click the menu a second time to hide it
What happened
Now notice that the triangle between the topbar and the menu is still shown and hasn't been hidden. (note this doesn't happen with Wayland).
What did you expect to happen
I expected for the menu and the triangle to be hidden or shown together.
Relevant logs, screenshots, screencasts etc.
See under "Terminal", Clock, or system menu that the triangle is still visible, even though I have closed all of these menus.
Note I have only tried this with GNOME Boxes, not with real hardware yet.
