"application is not responding" dialog hidden in some fullscreen application
I had the problem that a game was not responding, but the dialog to close it was only visible when going into the application overview. (Where I cannot click it). Pressing the close button in that overview does not cause the application to exit, and because the dialog was not visible in fullscreen, there was no possibility to continue/stop the program. In the end, I was required to kill the process with the process manager.
Ideas for improvements
- When gnome detects some application is not responding, users can also close the application in the overview without using that dialog.
- It's not uncommon to see this dialog when starting a game (like CS:GO), so its detection algorithm seems to need improvements.
- From what I noticed application cannot free themselves from the dialog (they are paused?). That's also not nice when the dialog pops up in working applications.
I'm currently running Gnome 3.28.2 on X11
