Some expandable items in the top panel show a down arrow, while others do not
Feature summary
Currently application menu and system menu have dropdown arrows beside them while the clock, calendar & appointments doesn't have one. Since they all are dropdown menus their appearance should be consistent.
How would you like it to work
I would remove arrows from every one of them because it is quite obvious that the menus are clickable, and even if it wasn't obvious the arrows do not indicate it that clearly. Another option would be to add an arrow beside the clock as well. In my opinion, however, removing them altogether would be cleaner.

I suppose everyone here knows how Gnome looks like, but here is a link showing all the menus: https://help.gnome.org/users/gnome-help/stable/shell-introduction.html.en#appmenu
I would also like to note that I am aware of (and currently using) an extension that removes those arrows. So this is not a "personal" problem, but something that I think Gnome should consider to make the desktop a bit more consistent.
