lockscreen: after wrong password, 2s delay before password focus
Affected version
- OS: Debian (testing)
- Version: 3.36.1-5
- Appears on: Wayland
Bug summary
The lock screen, after an unsuccessful password attempt, will print the hint "it did not work" and make the field wobble horizontally. But after this wobble is finished, you have to wait 2 seconds (measured on stopwatch, approx.) before the field is in focus again. You can bypass this time by grabbing the mouse and selecting the field directly after the wobble to gain focus faster, but this is less user friendly than just letting the user try to type the password again.
Steps to reproduce
- Lock the screen
- Unlock the screen
- Enter a wrong password
- Wait until the wrong password hint appears and the field finish its horizontal wobble
- Immediately try to type a new password, which is not possible because the field is not selected yet
- 2 seconds after the wobble ends, the field is selected and you can try to type the password again
What happened
Impossible to directly type a new password after the wobble animation has finished. Need to wait 2 additional seconds for the password field to be in focus again.
What did you expect to happen
It should be possible to type a new password just after the wobble animation has terminated.
Relevant logs, screenshots, screencasts etc.
Impossible to start screencast with Ctrl+Alt+Shift+R, this will change my keyboard layout while not stating so in the layout indicator, probably another issue.
