Regression: new auth. dialogue design breaks with small changes to text scaling factor
(Avatar/username blanked out by me.)
Note the misalignment on the RHS.
To reproduce, set the text scaling factor to e.g. 0.8 with:
gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.interface text-scaling-factor 0.8
Per #2464 (comment 747710), text-scaling-factor
is supposed to be supported. Also:
- Many previous GNOME Shell versions handled (reasonable) changes to
text-scaling-factor
gracefully everywhere. It would be great to not go backwards here and lose the ability to globally adjust font size within reason. - The shell probably shouldn't rely on font specifics to position UI elements properly - it would seem to suggest that the layout logic is brittle and will break more widely at some point (e.g. if the default GNOME fonts are tweaked or changed).
