Occasional desktop freeze when clicking notification
I ran GNOME Shell 3.34.1
on Arch (version 1:3.34.1+12+ga43c22e3a-1
), but the issue appeared in earler 3.34.1 versions as well. If I recall correctly, it only happened with Evolution and Telegram notifications, but not sure about other applications since I rarely get other notifications. On some days this happens multiple times, on others it doesn't happen at all. I haven't found a pattern yet. I see this issue on 2 different (but similarly setup) systems, a laptop and a custom desktop, both of which have been upgraded to 3.34 from 3.32. On a third similarly configured system, that has been freshly installed, it hasn't happened so far (~3 days of usage).
When it happens the entire shell session freezes, but the mouse still moves and audio works fine too. Switching TTYs is possible. To get out of the state I either rebooted or kill'ed (-TERM) the systemd --user process for the session.
I mentioned this in #gnome on freenode and was asked to get stacktraces, so here they are: https://gist.github.com/pschichtel/e8b8e66095e6ccd3e17882f3e0c769d0
JavaScript stacktraces are empty, so I assume JavaScript is not involved. The native stacktraces are without debug symbols, if that would be of interest I can supply upon the next crash. I extracted these stacktraces on 3 separate crashes (on separate systems, multiple traces in a row), they were always the identical.
