Blur semi-transparent backgrounds
Something that regularly comes up in design conversations is the ability to add a blur effect to semi-transparent backgrounds. Examples include search results, popovers and the lock screen wallpaper.
Blurring is a great option for making foreground content visible and legible, while retaining the benefits of transparency (less jarring transitions, retention of context, more sophisticated aesthetics).
