Mouse cursor not available in screencast recording videos

In the output video of a screencast my mouse cursor (pointer) is never visible.

What I tried:

  • Wayland, recording with ctrl+alt+shift+r, video format webm = mouse is invisible
  • Wayland, recording with Green Recording, video format webm = mouse is invisible
  • X11, recording with with ctrl+alt+shift+r, video format webm = mouse is invisible
  • X11, recording with Green Recording, video format mkv or mp4 or avi = it works as expected and the mouse cursor is visible in the video

Apparently it seems to be a problem related to the webm recording, and unfortunately it is the only one available in Wayland.

I'm able to reproduce this bug in my desktop and my laptop, so I can exclude a driver issue. I'm running Arch Linux with gnome-shell 3.32.1
