Applications Menu ignoring system language with Places Status Indicator installed
I'm experiencing a weird issue with both the Applications Menu and the Places Status Indicator extension installed on Fedora 34 with GNOME Shell 40.1. When both extensions are installed, one of them changes to the default language, what I assume is English, ignoring the system's current locale.
The extension, which was installed the latest, respects the system's language, while the other extension switches back to English.
Steps to reproduce:
- On a system with another language than English, install first the Applications Menu extension. The system's language is respected.
- Install the Places Status Indicator extension. The system's language is still respected.
- Lock screen. Unlock screen. Not sure why, but that causes the first of the both extensions to change its language to English. There might also be other triggers, such as restarting gnome-shell, I assume, which I haven't tested yet, so that's unconfirmed.
For sure, the labels, in that case 'Applications' or 'Places', in the top bar are in English and ignoring the system's language. The labels in the drop-down menu are mostly correct ('Favorites' in the Applications Menu seems also to be affected). I did not have that issue with Fedora 33 and the previous version of the shell.
Let me know, if anyone can reproduce that issue, or if you need any additional information.
