Applications Menu: Clicking outside the menu activates invisible icon
Steps to reproduce:
- Enable the Applications Menu extension.
- Click on the Applications Menu.
- Select a category with many programs so that they don't fit inside the menu and a scroll bar appears on the right side. For example, the "Utilities" category will probably do.
- Click somewhere below the application list, outside the menu.
Buggy behavior:
The menu closes but some random application opens (whatever was supposed to be below the last icon).
Expected behavior:
The menu closes without activating any application.
Versions affected:
This issue occurs whether the extension is installed from Ubuntu's repository (apt install gnome-shell-extensions) or from the extensions.gnome.org website (version 44).
System info:
Ubuntu 20.04.1
Gnome 3.36.3 (via system settings)
GNOME Shell 3.36.4 (via gnome-shell --version)
X11
Also reproducible on:
- Fedora 32 Live Image
- Debian Stable (Bullseye) with Gnome (package gnome-shell reports version number 3.38.4)
