Launching a process via keyboard shortcut gives a parent PID of 1
Via Settings, configuring a shortcut to launch a process (e.g. Super+G to launch gedit
), then using the shortcut, results in the process being parented to PID 1.
I'd expect it to be parented to the gnome-shell process (i.e. the same as via the run dialogue), e.g. for predictable behaviour on session termination.
