System auto-suspends when switching users even when auto-suspend is disabled
When a user with admin rights disables auto-suspend in gnome settings, the system still suspends after 20 minutes when the GDM screen is active. Here's an example workflow.
- User
frank
(admin) logs in, has auto-suspend disabled. - User
wife
requests access to the PC.frank
switches accounts (keeping his session active). - User
wife
finishes her work and logs out. The systems is now in GDM. - When
frank
returns to the PC, the PC is suspended. Even thoughfrank
, as admin, disabled auto-suspend.
How can frank
make sure the system doesn't auto-suspend? There seems to be no obvious way. It would be logical to assume that as an admin he sets a system-wide behavior, but clearly he doesn't.
