support of OLED screens

Description
Hi,
I tried my best to find the right category for the bug. If this is the incorrect only, my apologies.
I have just installed Arch Linux on a Dell Alienware 13 R3 laptop with OLED screen. First, I have to say that I am impressed. The gnome version I am using is 3.22, which is the newest from arch at this time (Feb, 2017).
The OLED screen doesn't have a backlight so that two features are broken:
(1) brightness control (2) blank of screen
The Fn keys that controls the brightness level for the screen are detected and when I press them, gnome shows the OSD (on-screen display) of the current brightness level. However, changing the brightness level has no effect. I believe this is because there is no backlight for the OLED screen. I did find online a xrandr command that can be used to change the brightness in software. It works great on command line. It would be nice that gnome can automatically detect that we are running an OLED screen and connect the Fn keys to the right xrandr command lines.
Secondly, when the machine is idle, the screen never goes blank. I checked my gnome settings and the blank timeout is 5 minutes. But it again didn't have any effect. I assume that the same root cause for that bug as well.
Thanks and please let me know if you need more info from my platform.
