Option to disable screen wake for lock screen notifications
Although waking the screen to display notifications is useful in the context of fast-waking displays (more common in laptops, and obviously tablets and phones), and is useful in "user is likely to be nearby" contexts, in other situations it makes less sense.
For example:
- desktops with slow-waking displays - some can take 10+ seconds to switch on, and some also going through a "manufacturer logo" phase as well before showing real output
- computers that might need to remain on (long-running network tasks etc.) but are either in active use (unlocked) or otherwise, are not likely to have the user nearby - for example, work computers (user at desk = unlocked/in use; locked probably means user elsewhere).
In these cases, it is still useful to see a summary of notifications on the lock screen when it's manually woken up (e.g. "updates available"), since these can otherwise "disappear" into the notifications menu, but this currently requires having the screen waking up for every new notification while locked.
It would be useful then to have an option (dconf-only maybe) for "wake-display-on-notifications", defaulting to true.
