selection for crop stalls if mouse pointer moves too fast outside the drawing area

Description

Created attachment 335925 Crop area selection (video)

When selecting the crop area if the mouse pointer moves too fast outside the drawing area, The selection process stalls. The mouse pointer has to be back on the drawing area for the selection to work right.
