Google Photos are not shown in Gnome Photos app
Pictures from Google Photos are not shown in Google Photos app, altough in "Online Accounts" there is an option to enable "photos" synchronization.
I read somewhere that the Photos app uses the legacy Picasa API, which is no longer working; it has been replaced by https://developers.google.com/photos. I understand that implementing a new API takes a lot of time and effort, and I've found no plans on the roadmap to implement it.
I would therefore propose to remove the "Photos" switch from the Google Account setting in "Online Accounts" to not confuse new users and raise wrong expectation. Picasa has been discontinued in 2016, and now its 2020, so the state of this feature in Gnome should be clarified in my opinion.
Ofc I would much rather like that the new API is implemented and therefore making the desktop more and more comparable to what users know from mobile OS'es like Android etc, but understand that this takes a lot more effort.
