Microsoft 365 account: setup dialog is a bit confusing
A number of improvements were made to the Microsoft 365 account UI in #317 (closed). It's certainly much improved (thanks to everyone who worked on it in my absence). However, there are also some remaining ambiguities which it would be good to resolve.
I think the main thing that's missing is a clear message about who needs to fill in the authorization details section. Presumably it's someone who has set up their own client/tenant ID, or who is using an client ID provided by an organisation that they belong to? I think ideally we'd also hide the authorization details rows somehow, so it's clear that you don't need to interact with that section - right now the UI pulls you into the details section even though it's not always needed.
There are also a bunch of other UI issues that could be addressed here:
- The line that ends "to access files" feels a bit odd and ambiguous - shouldn't it say that it's to access files stored in OneDrive? That is the point of this.
- The labels use periods inconsistently
- The "Sign in…" label should use header capitalization
- "depending on the settings for your organization" is quite ambiguous - what organization? What settings? Is this something I'm supposed to know about?
- The fact that the client id row is focused by default is misleading
- It's unclear whether a client and tenant ID may both need to be provided (I'm guessing yes?)
