Connecting to Google Account hangs

Steps to reproduce:
- Open GNOME Settings => Online Accounts => Google
- Enter your Google account email address and a correct password (if you enter an incorrect password, you will get a red error message from Google after "Next" as expected)
- Click on Next

- successful connection

the dialog hangs, see the screenshot. Actually thee is still an animation (the blue stripe on top) in the dialog, but no success happens even after more than 5 minutes
