Driving directions are very difficult to follow due to too many directions to stay on the same road

Hi, I did an example search for driving directions from St. Louis to Denver. This route is very, very simple: you have to take I-64 west to I-70, and then stay on I-70 until you get to Denver. Some extra steps at the beginning and end to get from the arbitrary start point to the arbitrary end point are expected. But Maps can't handle this simple route:

The instructions say to stay on the same road every half mile or so. Nobody could possibly use this to navigate. :( Is there any practical way to improve this?

(Weird bonus bug: the map is zoomed to show most of the route, but Denver is missing off to the west. Why not zoom out more to show the destination too?)
