gnome keyring gets stuck on one specific ssh key and ends up in a memory leak
Described over here: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?pid=2154990#p2154990
I have one SSH key, if that is being used, the gcr daemon gets stuck. There is no error in the SSH verbose log (see the forum entry), but I lately now realized this is some memory leak. After now roughly 4 hours, everything was getting slow and I looked what was going on. Noticed high memory usage, this time it didn't seem to come from anything obvious. So I restarted the gcr-ssh-agent and all the 50GB of ram got freed immediately.
I am not sure if the key is at fault. B/c if I rename or copy the key to not be named id_rsa
, it works. As soon as the key is named id_rsa again it fails.
Edit: I tried placing another key as id_rsa
. Other keys don't cause this memory leak and stuck state, but returned instead
sign_and_send_pubkey: signing failed for RSA "/home/tobi/.ssh/id_rsa" from agent: agent refused operation
Something is wrong with the name id_rsa
somehow.
Please let me know how I can provide valueable logs to you to fix this.
