GNOME 40: retire Getting started
We've rolled out the Tour as a mean of onboarding new users to GNOME in 3.38. For GNOME40 there will be more updates on that front with integration with the shell.
With more changes in the shell, I'm proposing retiring the video-heavy gnome-getting-started as the onboarding tool. There are a couple of guides that might be worth porting over to the user docs, if there is enough interest in maintaining those guides:
- Browse the web -- will need text as well as image updates
- Use system search -- minor updates to the image
- Launch Applications -- pretty dull without the animation. I'd drop it in favor of the Tour.
- Change date & time -- seems up to date.
- Use windows and workspaces, Switch tasks -- Drop videos. Window management might be worthwile to keep around, but it would need some illustrations. I'd rather drop it.
- Connect to online accounts -- up to date.
- Get online -- up to date.
