style: Use a linear gradient for thumbnails' background

This makes icons and empty thumnails pop out a bit more from the background, following what is done on the DS Light:

Note I am mostly doing this for icons, as I would like to use HdyAvatar for empty thumbnails.

Downside: I think the difference between the colors isn't big enough, creating a noticeable banding effect.
