Description
Dear developers,
I using GNOME with Orca Screen Reader. When I launched the gnome-disks application, select my hard disk and want choosing a wolume in the volumes list, the actual list item inaccessible with Orca screen reader. Try following test only with keyboard, you not use mouse:
- Launch Orca Screen Reader (press SUPER+ALT+S keystroke, or press ALT+F2 and type orca command).
- Press super button in GNOME Shell, and type disk search term. Will be presenting the disks application search match, press ENTER key.
- Select your hard drive. If you not doing any selection, the first hard drive will be selected automaticaly.
- Press SHIFT+TAB keystroke until you not hear the volumes dialog item in the main window.
- Try using arrow keys to select a volume. This part Orca only spokening unselected text, and not spokening the actual selected volume. Expected result: when you doing the selection in the volumes list, Orca need spokening the actual selected volume. Actual result: Orca now get application the unselected state if a volume selected with arrow keys.
Possible fix ways: Because now Orca identifying this volumes control with an unknown role type, the assistive component not get right information from this control. Need future changing this control part with following controls, depending your choice:
- A normal tree table with containing each volume in a gtk treeview.
- If only one column need, an alternate way to you presenting each volume related informations with a list box or list view.
