mounting ISOs using gnome-disk-utility 3.38.0 on Ubuntu 20.10 inconsistently fails
this is to create an upstream bug report for an issue I've been having on Ubuntu 20.10, where gnome-disk-utility fails to mount some, but not all, ISO files.
on failure, I get a GTK error message like the following:
Error attaching disk image:
GDBus.Error:org.freedesktop.UDisks2.Error.Fails: Error waiting for loop object after creating '/dev/loop5': Timed out waiting for object (udisks-error-quark, 0)
nothing useful about the error is printed in journalctl
, and calling udisksctl loop-setup -f
directly works fine.
the downstream bug report with more details is here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-disk-utility/+bug/1901286
