Unable to change the refresh rate and resolution at the same time
Changing refresh rate and resolution with a single monitor resets the other in gnome-control-center. AKA changing resolution resets the refresh rate to whatever is currently set, and same if you change the refresh rate, it resets the resolution.
The issue being I end up having to set monitor settings twice, one for the resolution and another for the refresh rate. Since the monitor cuts out for a few seconds to apply it each time, the time spent doing it adds up, especially since I go between 1 and 2 monitors frequently, setting custom refresh rates and resolutions.
You can bypass the issue with more than one monitor by clicking between the monitors after setting one of the 2 settings.
Computer: Dell XPS 13 9370 OS: Ubuntu 18.04.2 (Fresh Ubuntu install, not using Dell version) Gnome Version: 3.28.2
Steps to reproduce:
- Open GNOME Settings with a single monitor that supports both different resolutions and higher refresh rates.
- Goto "Screen Display"
- Change both the resolution and refresh rate. Changing the 2nd option will reset the first.
