Re-enable controls for multiple monitors?
Issue: display settings remove user choice between "join" and "mirror" when there are 3 or more displays.
Join is supposed to be default.
But some bug occasionally flicks it to mirror.
Identifying and fixing the bug would be great.
But in the meantime, could you re-enable the choice between "join" and "mirror" when there are multiple displays? (I guess single screen may not work so greying that out is fine).
My 2 monitors, external to my laptop, are supposed to be on join display (with laptop monitor off). Yesterday, for no obvious reason (I was only typing text at the time) that flicked to mirror. No way to go back because, since the laptop monitor exists, I had no access to the options between join and mirror through the gui. I had to unplug and re-plug and turn monitors off and on through the tool, until I tricked it into letting me get at the options again through the gui. Then I could return to join, and am now back to desired configuration.
Simplest fix: just don't take those options away when there are 3 or more monitors? Sure I can't think of a reason why someone wants 3 mirrored monitors, but they might, and it works, and meanwhile if they find that's what they've suddenly got at least they are then able to switch back.
