Setting a cloned/spoofed MAC (for a wired connection) via GNOME Settings doesn't work
Entering a spoofed MAC in the identity tab of a network connection profile in GNOME Settings doesn't work - after hitting Apply then re-opening the settings dialogue window, the "Cloned MAC" box contains the hardware MAC instead of the previously entered spoofed MAC.
It doesn't matter if this is done when the connection is active or not.
Running nmcli show [connection name] | grep 802-3-ethernet.cloned-mac-address
shows that 802-3-ethernet.cloned-mac-address
has been populated for the connection, but with the hardware MAC instead of the chosen spoofed MAC.
nmcli modify [connection name] 802-3-ethernet.cloned-mac-address [some mac]
works correctly.
