sound settings: some actions lead to damaged dropdown list widget
Let's assume we have more than 1 output device. The sound settings window offers a dropdown list of all output devices. This dropdown list works fine after opening the window. It still works fine when moving the window to the right side of the screen - as long as the window is completely on the screen. But there are at least 2 things one can do to "crash" the dropdown list:
a) It doesn't work anymore after switching desktop and going back BY KEYBOARD (Super+PgDown, Super+PgUp). It's still working when switching desktop by mouse. Note that the window must be on the right side of the screen and maybe the contents of the dropdown list must have a larger width than the window.
b) Even simpler: just move the window partially out of the screen, so that only part of the dropdown-list is still on the screen. Now click the dropdown-list. Doesn't work.
Detailed description of the issue. Put as much information as you can, potentially with images showing the issue.
Steps to reproduce:
- Open GNOME Settings
- select "Sound"
- check that there's a dropdown menu for the "output device"
- move the window to the right until 50% of it is outside the desktop
- bug: the dropdown menu cannot be opened anymore
Maybe this bug is only reproducible under Wayland. I'm using Arch Linux (x64). Here are some software packages I've installed:
- Gnome 3.36.0
- GTK 3.24.18
- Wayland 1.18.0
- Linux 5.6.6 (amdgpu driver is being used)
