Controls in the sound panel are not updating properly [3.33]

This is with gnome-control-center 331d0b8a and the corresponding gvc 468022b708fc1a56154f3b0cc5af3b938fb3e9fb

  1. Open Settings to the sound panel
  2. Play something
  3. Look at the stream for the thing you're playing
  4. Look at the output device

There's no widget to show/control the level of the stream, and the output device is not showing the level. Here are two screenshots: Settings and pavucontrol (the latter is showing the right things - you can see the output level is not 0 for one of the Spotify streams).
