gnome-control-center depends on unreleased upower
Hi,
The latest upower release is 0.99.7 but g-c-c depends on 0.99.8, which seems to be available only as a git tag. At least it's not available from https://upower.freedesktop.org/releases/. So I was not able to include g-c-c 3.31.4 in GNOME 3.31.90. I downgraded it to 3.31.2 to avoid the new upower dependency. I'm reporting against g-c-c because g-c-c is the module that fails to build. Let's fix it somehow before the 3.31.91 release, thanks!
CC @hadess: if you no longer intend to release traditional upower tarballs, we can switch to using one of the generated tarballs from https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/upower/upower/tags, which will be no problem. But there is a disadvantage: we'll no longer build upower from git in gnome-build-meta, we'll have to hardcode the tarball version there instead. So we'll no longer do CI with upower master, and we'll no longer automatically update to newer upower in GNOME releases, it will just get pinned to a particular version until manually updated. (Everything we build from git must be convertible to a tarball by our release scripts, and that's not possible for GitLab tarballs.) Up to you. I guess leaving https://upower.freedesktop.org/ outdated is probably a mistake, though.
