Automatic Login option doesn't work properly because of "SetAutomaticLogin call failed" error
Steps to reproduce
- Enable the Automatic Login setting at Settings > Users
- Close Settings and reopen it
Seen behavior
The toggle Automatic Login option won't be enabled. When running gnome-control-center --verbose
in the terminal, I get the following error:
17:40:53.7373 accountsservice[10820]: WARNING: SetAutomaticLogin call failed: GDBus.Error:org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NoReply: Remote peer disconnected
17:40:55.0111 accountsservice[10820]: WARNING: SetAutomaticLogin call failed: GDBus.Error:org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NoReply: Remote peer disconnected
This started to happen after upgrading to GNOME 44. The weird thing is that I already enabled this option prior to upgrading to GNOME 44/Fedora 38. After the upgrading the system, the automatic login worked with no issues.
I wonder if that's a regression caused by !1681 (merged)
Affected version
