region: system_region which equals system_language always shown as "United States"
Forwarding the Ubuntu bug https://launchpad.net/bugs/2012736
On a system with multiple users: If I in Settings -> Region & Language select the same locale for login screen formats as is choosen for the login screen language, my /etc/default/locale
file will only contain a LANG
row. While that means that the formats for the login screen are actually determined by the locale for the language, the UI always tells me that it is "United States" (DEFAULT_LOCALE
).
The problem has previously been reported in #1791 (closed), but that issue was closed since it was claimed to be fixed through gnome-desktop@b27558e4. It was not, though, since they are different things. And, maybe as a result of that, a merge request which would actually have addressed the issue has been left unreviewed.
Will submit a new merge request with a proposed fix. Hopefully at least one applicable MR will be merged soon. :/
Cheers,
Gunnar Hjalmarsson
