sound: Behringer U-Phoria UM2 isn't recognized as an audio input
- Fedora 34
- GNOME 40.1
- Behringer U-Phoria UM2
- pactl-cards, pactl-sources
The aforementioned sound card I have, according to pactl
, doesn't have a designated input port and records audio via the output port using an input:
profile:
Card #39
Name: alsa_card.usb-Burr-Brown_from_TI_USB_Audio_CODEC-00
...
Profiles:
...
output:analog-stereo-output: Analog Stereo Output (sinks: 1, sources: 0, priority: 5000, available: yes)
input:analog-stereo-input: Analog Stereo Input (sinks: 0, sources: 1, priority: 54, available: yes)
...
Active Profile: output:analog-stereo-output+input:analog-mono-right
Ports:
analog-output: Analog Output (type: Analog, priority: 9900, latency offset: 0 usec, availability unknown)
Properties:
port.type = "analog"
card.profile.port = "0"
Part of profile(s): output:analog-stereo-output, output:analog-stereo-output+input:analog-stereo-input, output:analog-stereo-output+input:analog-mono, output:analog-stereo-output+input:analog-mono-left, output:analog-stereo-output+input:analog-mono-right
This makes GNOME Settings ignore the presence of the input capability at all:
External audio configuration tools such as pavucontrol recognize it with absolutely no problem:
Audio client applications such as Firefox also seem to have no problem with it:
