Test window in "Sound" doesn't show speakers to test (with any device or speaker configuration)

Detailed description of the issue. Put as much information as you can, potentially with images showing the issue.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Open GNOME Settings
  2. Go to Sound
  3. Choose any sound device (I happen to have nine on this system, but only one plugged into speakers.
  4. Try any configuration (Analog 4.0 is my choice)
  5. Push the test button
  6. Observe lack of speakers buttons to test
