Known Wi-Fi Networks can’t display networks if two cards have connected to the same network
Detailed description of the issue. Put as much information as you can, potentially with images showing the issue.
Steps to reproduce:
- Insert two different WiFi moduls (USB adapters work fine)
- Open GNOME Settings: Wi-Fi
- Select the first adapter and connect to Network X
- Select the second adapter and connect to Network X
- Click the overflow menu and select Known Wi-Fi Networks
Expected:
Two entries: “Network X (first_device_name)” and “Network X (
second_device_name)”.
Actual:
One entry: “Network X” (for the first device network).
Notes:
Internally, the two networks are assigned different names “Network X” and “Network X 1” but Known Wi-Fi Networks display networks by their ESSID and not their Names. These names aren’t very useful to humans, however, so should distinguish them by device name instead.
