Google account, contacts list is empty. Timeout reached while trying to open the address book

I'm logging to my Google account (2-step verification) via GOA. I've done the log in today from scratch. Nautilus can see the files in Google Drive, so this confirms that GOA worked correctly.

However, gnome-contacts does not show any contact. I have selected the address book of my Google account. The logs show a timeout problem (in italian):
