Contacts merge incorrectly
Affected version
- GNOME Contacts version: gnome-contacts-44~beta-1.fc38.x86_64
- Application provider: Fedora 38 Beta RPM
Steps to reproduce
- The application is connected to a real Google account where there are contacts.
- Some of the contacts are messy, they exist as an email only contact and then a phone number contact. Notice, that there is Stanislava Chmelikova and s.chmelikova in the list on the left side.
- Now, I want these two contacts become one, so I copy the email from the email only contact and add it to the phone contact with the name and save it. At this point, the two contacts merge together under one contact, the email contact disappears, but the only one contact now contains two emails and both are the same
- So I open the contact for editing and see this
- After I delete the second email from the Address book section and save it and huh ... I am getting the email contact back, but this time it is empty.
Current behavior
The contacts get manipulated weirdly when I want to merge two contacts into one.
Expected behavior
The contacts should not get merged, instead one contact should correctly save with both email and phone and I could delete the second contact or if they merge, they should merge correctly, i.e. one contact with one email and one phone.
