Alphabet bar for quick contact navigation

On mobile devices, tapping and swapping are more natural than writing some text. On long contact lists, an "alphabet" side bar that would allow to quickly jump to any alphabet letter in the contact list would be awesome to avoid actually writing a search.

Something like this, but you know, more GTK-ish.
