Week-View: time-based multi-day/overnight events are displayed as all-day multi-day events, without time indication
Affected version
- Distribution: Fedora 37 Workstation Edition
- GNOME Version: 43.2
- GNOME Calendar Version: 43.1
Bug summary
Even though the event is not a Full-Day Event but a Multi-Day/Over-Night Event, it is displayed as a Full-Day Event in the Week-View without any visual indication that there is a defined Start and End time (--> looks like a "real" Full-Day Event).
Steps to reproduce
- Open the Week-View
- Create a new Event (by any means/way) that is not a Full-Day Event
- Set the Beginning of the Event to Date X at Time 11:00 (for example)
- Set the End of the Event to Date X+1 at Time 14:00 (for example)
- Save the Event and view it in the Week-View
- The Event will be displayed as above
What happened
GNOME Calendar displayed an Event that has a defined Start and End time (on different days) as if was a Full-Day Event on both days.
What did you expect to happen
In my opinion, GNOME Calendar should either display an indication that the Event is in fact not a Full-Day event or even better, Display the Event (either Non-Full-Day Parts of or the whole Event) as a Non-Full-Day Event in the Timetable.
Relevant logs, screenshots, screencasts etc.
This could be a 3-Day non-Full-Day Event displayed in the Timetable:
or like this
