After having created exceptions in recurrence, deleting a recurring / repeating event's future occurrences does not remove them from the view until the app is restarted
I have an event in one of my Google Calendars that occurs on the 3rd of each month. I poked "holes" in it in the past where I moved or deleted some of the occurrences, but the general recurrence rule remains.
In GNOME Calendar, if I go in month view, click the first (future) occurrence of where I want it to stop, and try to delete it, I get this nice dialog:
So I click "Subsequent events", it will either
- Disappear from the month view, then reappear after 5 seconds (and still shows up in subsequent months, too): this was the behavior prior to version 43.1
- Disappear only after a restart (see below)
2023 update, with GNOME Calendar 43.1 (that benefitted from some recurrence fixes):
- The "poked holes" aspect is very important; the issue does not seem to occur with repeating events that have not had any exceptions in their scheduling.
- The "until app restart" aspect is also important, as discovered in issue #683 (closed) and #775 (closed)
