[Feature Request] Open Weather App from Calendar weather icons
Calendar 3.28 can now show the weather. It would be nice if we could click on weather icons / indicators and open the Weather app if that is installed
We might want to do that, for a couple of reasons
-
So we can get more details of the weather. Currently Weather app doesn't provide much more additional info other than forecast during day, and 5 days forecast (instead of 3 in Calendar). But it might on the future
-
Imagine you live in Rome, and you have a trip next day to Napoli or London. While Calendar can switch places for weather, this is not very convenient, specially for someone who's travelling regurarly, and s/he might wants to store some places in Weather App for quickly viewing. Currently Weather app doesn't support "Favorites" but only "Recent" locations. But it might on the future :)
-
Why not? It is not a super needed feature, and Weather isn't very informative app, but it is a harmless additional link, and pushes some more "integration" features between core apps
Against
-
The row that hosts Weather indicators, is the first row, and currently is been used to add a new event. So you lose this, and you can only use the last / empty row to add events
-
If you accidentally hit weather indicators expecting to view events, or to add a new event, and instead you open Weather app, it can be very a annoying
In general i think it will be a NTH, but only if it wouldn't mess up the design and user interaction. Which is hard considering that there is not much space inside the events cells
A better approach would be probably to have the Weather indicators also inside the Event Widget, and link (open) Weather app from there. It needs design, but it is trivial i guess
