Bootable VM images of GNOME
We all want to be able to build bootable VM images containing the latest development version of GNOME!
The idea for solving this is to first rebase the project on top of the Freedesktop SDK 18.08 and add the necessarily image creation facilities to that project. It will then be pretty simple to add an element that spits out a suitable disk image.
Known blockers:
Support for "junctions" (embedding one BuildStream project in another one) needs to be merged in BuildStream, and the Freedesktop SDK will then need to be updated to use junctionsUsing Freedesktop SDK as a base in gnome-build-meta instead of the current Debian base: work-in-progress branch, see #21 (closed)Support for building VM images in Freedesktop SDK project
We may also need to optimize the current VM generation process when using it for GNOME images as I have found that creating multi-GB disk images can take 30 or more minutes at present.
