USB hard drive doesn't show up in Windows
Hi,
- Softwares I used :
I did manage to run Windows 10 on my Debian Testing 64 bits :
. gnome-boxes 3.30.1-1
. Linux HAL 4.18.0-2-amd64 #1 (moved) SMP Debian 4.18.10-2 (2018-10-07) x86_64 GNU/Linux
. libc6 2.27-6
. libspice-server1 0.14.0-1.2
. libspice-client-glib-2.0-8 0.35-2
. libspice-client-gtk-3.0-5 0.35-2
. libvirt0 4.7.0-1+b1
. libusb-0.1-4 2:0.1.12-32
. libusb-1.0-0 2:1.0.22-2
My chipset is Intel H77 (Asrock H77M motherboard) therefore that bug is probably different from #175
Note that I used Windows 10 Disc Image (Win10_1803_French_x64.iso) downloaded yesterday at https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/software-download/windows10ISO (which can be installed without serial number for trial).
Also note that latest spice-guest-tools has been installed within Windows from http://www.spice-space.org/download.html.
That bug was formerly reported at https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=765239 concerning Boxes 3.20 and Win 7 ans still occurs today.
- Problem :
My USB device (whether it is a hard drive or a USB flash drive) shows up within my Debian GNU/Linux 64 bits system and also in Boxes menu, under USB Devices, where I can activate USB redirection for it (which unmount the hard drive within my Debian system as expected).
But it doesn't show up in Windows consecutively.
You'll see on the attached screenshot that USB devices are detected by Win 10 but show an error that Windows can't solve
- Further investigation :
Running gnome-boxes from commandline, I got :
libusb: error [udev_hotplug_event] ignoring udev action bind
Thanks !
