Redirect USB keyboard to guest OS
I have a programmable USB keyboard that I need to redirect to my Windows 10 VM so that I can configure it. The configuration software is available for Windows only. The Keyboard does not show up in my list of redirectable USB devices in the Boxes VM properties (Devices & Shares). I've been hunting around the web for an answer about why it doesn't show and how I might work around the issue. I have yet to find an answer. I'm hoping I might find the answer here at the source.
My host system is a Dell Precision 5550 laptop running an up-to-date install of Arch Linux with the following software versions:
- Gnome 3.36.2
- Gnome Boxes 3.36.4
- libvirt 5.10.0
- qemu 5.0.0
I am using a Dell Dock TB16 Thunderbolt docking station, to which most of my USB peripherals are attached. I have the spice guest additions installed and am able to redirect other USB devices, like my webcam and speaker, which are also attached via the docking station. I have attached the keyboard directly to the laptop, but that didn't make any difference.
Any help on how to redirect a USB keyboard to a Boxes guest would be much appreciated. Thanks!
