`No KVM` error due to `virsh capabilities` returning error - but I run libvirt as session in userspace.
Affected version
- Boxes version: 45.0
- Operating system name and version: Ubuntu 23.10
Steps to reproduce
- Open Boxes
- Install from file
- Select ISO then OK
Seen behavior
Oops! Somthing went wrong! No KVM!
Expected behavior
It should proceed fine.
My observation
The code tries to call virsh capabilities
as soon as an ISO file is picked. However the command returns error saying
$ virsh capabilities
error: failed to connect to the hypervisor
error: Failed to connect socket to '/var/run/libvirt/libvirt-sock': No such file or directory
The problem is - I run libvirt as session in userspace, which means this command would always return error - it doesn't talk to the session!
