Files don’t get sorted by their prefixes (except for the dot prefix)
Steps to reproduce
- Create for example a folder with the name
_s
in your home directory. - Instead of getting sorted to the beginning or to the end, it gets sorted like the underscore isn’t there at all.
Reproducible in:
- Flatpak unstable: yes
- 3.30.5-stable (Fedora Silverblue 29)
Current behavior
File prefixes get ignored by Nautilus’ sorting algorithm. With one exception being dot files, for whatever reason.
Expected behavior
Those files are intended to be special files, so it would be good if they could get grouped together instead of being mixed with the other regular files.
Additional information
My use-case for example is my projects folder. There I’d like to place a folder _finished
at the beginning. However currently, I all the time have to search through all active project folders for finding this one.
