Description
I mount a directory situated on a windows FTP server using curlftpfs: $ sudo curlftpfs ftp://some.server.com /media/ftp.some.server.com/ -o user=user:pass,allow_other,ftp_port=- This way I can access the files and directories as if they were part of my own system. Since they are situated on a windows server, they don't have any unix permissions. gvfs-save manages to save files on the server, but fails to overwrite them.
$ echo "baz" | gvfs-save foo.bar $ cat foo.bar baz $ ls -l foo.bar ---------- 1 root root 4 17 jan 23:45 foo.bar $ echo "test" | gvfs-save foo.bar Error closing: Error renaming temporary file: Operation not permitted
