Failure to build with dtrace on Solaris; test failures too
I'm having trouble installing glib-2.54.3 on Solaris 11. I'm having trouble getting past this issue and would appreciate any suggestion. Here's the situation: With no libiconv installed:
./configure runs to completion. gmake gives this error: ld: fatal: symbol referencing errors
collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status
./configure --with-libiconv=gnu gives this error: checking for libiconv_open in -liconv... no
configure: error: *** No iconv() implementation found in C library or libiconv
./configure --with-libiconv=no runs to completion. gmake gives his error: ld: fatal: symbol referencing errors
Next, install libiconv-1.15
After installing libiconv
./configure runs to completion. gmake gives this error: ld: fatal: symbol referencing errors
collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status
./configure --with-libiconv=gnu runs to completion. gmake gives this error: ld: fatal: symbol referencing errors: ld: fatal: symbol referencing errors
collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status
./configure --with-libiconv=no runs to completion. gmake gives this error: gconvert.c:59:2: error: #error GNU libiconv not in use but included iconv.h is from libiconv
